Preparing to Find a Book

You need 3 pieces of information to locate a book in the stacks.

The location tells you where the book is stored in the library. Lehman Library has 3 levels (floors), and some floors are divided into different areas. Most books in Lehman Libary are on the upper level. Always double check the catalog record to be sure.

The call number tells you where the book is on a particular shelf. It is sort of like a street address for that book.

The availability tells you if the book is on the shelf or if it is checked out by another patron. When you check out a print book from Lehman Library, you can keep it for the entire semester, unless another patron recalls the book.
